Dr. Giovanni De Petris is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology. He is a graduate of the University of L’ Aquila, Faculty of Medicine in Italy. Dr De Petris completed residency training in Gastroenterology at the university of Rome and anatomic and clinical pathology at Brown University. He subsequently completed his fellowship training in gastrointestinal and liver pathology at Brown University and Oncologic Pathology at MSKCC New York City. He was a faculty member of Mayo Clinic Arizona and in the Mayo Clinic College Of medicine where he reached the rank of Associate Professor prior to joining Penrose Hospital (Colorado Spring, CO) and Arizona Gastrointestinal Pathologist (Scottsdale AZ), before joining Dianon Pathology in 2018. Dr. De Petris is active in clinical research and has authored over 100 gastrointestinal pathology articles in peer-reviewed pathology and clinical journals reaching an Impact factor of i33. He is a member of the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology and the College of American Pathologists.
