Ashley Tarasen

Dermatopathologist

Dr. Tarasen is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology and the American Board of Pathology in Dermatopathology, Anatomic Pathology, and Clinical Pathology. Dr. Tarasen completed her Dermatopathology fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in the Department of Dermatology. During fellowship training her time was split between seeing patients in dermatology clinic and dermatopathology. Dr. Tarasen grew up in California and the US Virgin Islands. She entered medical school early through the combined pre-med/MD program at St. George’s University, and completed her clinical rotations in New York City. Dr. Tarasen trained under nationally and internationally renowned Dermatopathologist Andrew Carlson during residency at Albany Medical College where she also served as Chief Resident. Dr. Tarasen has published many peer-reviewed articles and presented platform presentations at the American Society of Dermatopathology, the International Society of Dermatopathology, and the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology. Dr. Tarasen works closely with doctors specializing in Dermatology, Plastic Surgery, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Otolaryngology, OB/GYN, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, and Podiatry to accurately diagnose diseases of the skin.
